Hydraulic Cylinder Maintenance Measures
Selection of hydraulic oil: Choose the appropriate hydraulic oil based on system pressure, operating speed, working oil volume, and ambient temperature. Proper selection and regular maintenance of hydraulic oil are essential for preserving its working performance and efficiency.
Preventing contamination: Implement measures to prevent contaminants from entering the hydraulic oil. Regularly change the hydraulic oil and clean the system filters to ensure cleanliness and extend the service life of the system.
Proper operation: When using the hydraulic cylinder, fully extend and retract it for at least five strokes with a load. This action helps to remove air from the system, preheats the system, and eliminates the presence of air or water that can cause damage to the cylinder, such as gas scorch, seal damage, or internal leakage.
Temperature control: Monitor and control the system temperature effectively. High oil temperature can shorten the seal's service life and cause seal deformation. Implement measures to regulate and maintain the appropriate operating temperature.
Protecting the piston rod: Take measures to protect the outer surface of the piston rod to prevent damage to the seals due to impacts or scratches. Regularly clean the dynamic seal dust ring area on the piston rod to prevent dirt from entering and causing damage to the piston, barrel, or seals.
Inspection and maintenance: Regularly inspect the threads, bolts, and other connecting parts of the hydraulic cylinder. If any looseness is found, tighten the connections appropriately. Ensure that the connecting parts are adequately lubricated to prevent corrosion or abnormal wear in the absence of lubrication.
By following these maintenance guidelines, you can enhance the performance, reliability, and service life of hydraulic cylinders, while minimizing issues such as oil leakage, temperature-related speed control variations, and noise. Always refer to the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations for specific maintenance and care instructions for your hydraulic cylinder model.
