How To Operate The Exhaust Of Hydraulic Cylinder
To address the issue of air in the hydraulic cylinder, it is important to drain the air to prevent it from mixing with the hydraulic oil, which can cause instability in the equipment's piston, such as swinging or crawling. This can be done using ventilation equipment and following these steps:
Identify the location for the ventilation equipment. In hydraulic presses, the ventilation equipment is typically placed at the upper end of the hydraulic circuit. However, for casting machinery, it should be installed vertically, with the exhaust device located inside the cylinder barrel below the piston.
Install the ventilation equipment and ensure it is properly positioned. This may involve adjusting the equipment or modifying the cylinder barrel accordingly.
Make the necessary adjustments to achieve the desired exhaust effect. This can be done by following these steps:
a. Reduce the operating pressure of the hydraulic system to an appropriate range.
b. Start the hydraulic cylinder and observe the machine during the reciprocating stroke of the piston. Check for severe vibration or crawling conditions, which can indicate the presence of air.
c. During the piston's reciprocating stroke, seal the air outlet with gauze or another suitable material to prevent air from escaping. Open the exhaust valve to release the trapped air, allowing it to be drained from the cylinder.
Properly draining the air from the hydraulic cylinder helps maintain stable equipment operation and prevents potential issues caused by air and oil mixing. It is essential to follow the recommended procedures and ensure the ventilation equipment is installed and adjusted correctly for effective air removal.
