How To Correctly Check The Hydraulic Cylinder Accumulator
Determining the inflation pressure of the accumulator:
a. Install a shut-off valve on the oil line connecting the oil inlet of the accumulator and the fuel tank.
b. Place a pressure gauge in front of the shut-off valve.
c. Slowly open the shut-off valve to allow the pressure oil to flow back to the tank.
d. Observe the pressure gauge as the oil flows and pay attention to the movement of the gauge's pointer. Initially, the pointer will drop slowly.
e. Once the pressure reaches a certain value and starts dropping faster, note that value. This is the inflation pressure of the accumulator.
Maintaining oil pressure in the accumulator during long periods of non-use:
a. Close the stop valve between the oil port and the pressure oil pipe of the accumulator when it is not in use for an extended period.
b. By keeping the stop valve closed, the oil pressure inside the accumulator will remain higher than the inflation pressure.
Troubleshooting a non-functioning accumulator:
a. Check for air valve leakage as a potential cause. If there is leakage, supplement the accumulator with nitrogen gas.
b. If there is no nitrogen gas in the leather bag and oil is leaking from the air valve, dismantle the leather bag and inspect it for damage.
Removing the accumulator:
a. Before removing the accumulator, ensure that the pressure oil is fully released.
b. Use an inflation tool to release the nitrogen gas from the bladder.
c. Once the pressure is fully released, proceed to disassemble the other parts.
Dealing with oil leakage and loose fastening nut:
a. If the fastening nut of the accumulator becomes loose during transportation or pressure testing, resulting in oil leakage, check if the sealing ring has been squeezed out of the sealing groove.
b. Ensure that the installation is smooth and then tighten the nuts. It is recommended to tighten the nut during peak pressure in the system.
c. If oil continues to leak, remove the accumulator and replace the relevant parts as necessary.
It is important to follow proper procedures and safety precautions when working with accumulators. Consult the manufacturer's guidelines and relevant industry standards for specific instructions related to the particular accumulator model being used.
